Tragedy struck at Gandhi Nagar Police Station as a theft suspect, identified as Sahil Saini, resident of Nagri, Kathua, ended his life by hanging himself in the lockup late Wednesday night.
Saini, arrested under FIR No. 20/2024, committed suicide between 10 to 12 PM. Authorities rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu, where he was pronounced dead. A magisterial probe has been initiated, and a board of doctors is set to conduct a post-mortem examination.
