In a decisive action against drug peddlers, the Jammu Police on Sunday confiscated two properties worth crores of rupees in the Rajeev Nagar area, which has become a hotspot for drug trafficking activities.
A heavy contingent of police headed by SP South Jammu, Ajay Sharma, conducted raids in the area and confiscated the properties raised from ill-earned money.
Under the ongoing operation ‘SANJEEVANI’ against drug peddlers, the Jammu Police attached a triple-storied house and a double-storied residential house valued at crores of rupees belonging to notorious drug peddlers Reena @ Roopa, wife of Bobby, and Pal Singh, son of Roshan Lal, and his wife Seema, all residents of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, Jammu. The properties were attached under section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985.
“The residential houses were identified as illegally acquired property during an investigation by Jammu Police. The property was prima facie acquired from the proceeds of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the owners of the above-mentioned houses,” a Police Spokesperson stated.
The drug peddlers are involved in several cases, including FIR Nos. 220/2017, 67/2019, 185/2017, 220/2022, and 153/2023, registered at Police Station Bahu Fort, Jammu, under various sections of the NDPS Act.
This operation reaffirms the commitment of Jammu Police to combat the drug menace with full force. Residents of the area hailed the initiative of Jammu Police regarding the attachment of immovable property, which has been raised or used for the illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the district.
