The CDS’s visit underscores the importance attached to the successful implementation of the ‘Agnipath Scheme,’ a major reform aimed at maintaining a youthful profile within the Indian armed forces and contributing to nation-building by providing skilled, disciplined, and motivated youth.

During his address to the Agniveers, Gen Chauhan highlighted the significance of the Agnipath Scheme, emphasizing that it represents one of the most crucial reforms undertaken to maintain a youthful demographic within the services. He exhorted the Agniveers to remain focused on their training, urging them to strive towards becoming technologically proficient sea warriors capable of meeting the challenges of modern warfare.

In an interactive session, the CDS engaged with the Agniveers, addressing their queries and concerns, thereby fostering a direct communication channel with the future generation of India’s naval forces.

To gain firsthand insights into the Agniveer training process, Gen Chauhan embarked on a tour of the training infrastructure at INS Chilka. He expressed his appreciation for the training faculty, commending their efforts in imparting high standards of training and molding the next generation of sea warriors.

The CDS’s visit to INS Chilka underscores the Indian government’s commitment to the successful implementation of the Agnipath Scheme and the development of a well-trained and technologically adept military force. By closely monitoring the training initiatives for Agniveers, Gen Chauhan has demonstrated the Indian Armed Forces’ dedication to ensuring a seamless transition and integration of the new recruits into the ranks of the Indian Navy.
