COVID: JKAS Aspirants seeks postponement of Preliminary Exam schedule on 31st July

Aspirants fear impending threat of Covid 19 looming large on account of surge in Covid cases as such in the interest of Aspirants they are seeking the intervention of LG to postpone the exam!

The prestigious Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) preliminary exam is scheduled to held on July 31st July 2022 and for which recruitment agency the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has made elaborate arrangements. But sudden upward trend in the Covid cases across the UT of the Jammu and Kashmir has set the alarm bells ringing for the districts’ administration of Jammu and Kashmir as they have issued an order whereby, they have made the wearing of the facemask mandatory coupled with directed the public to maintain distance in the gatherings as a preventive measure to contain the spread of COVID-19.

In the wake of surge in COVID cases aspirants of the JKAS Prelims 2022 are caught in a tizzy and fix that the JKPSC conducting the exam despite increase in the cases. Scores of JKAS Prelims aspirants made a distressed calls to the Hidden News that take up the matter of postponement of JKAS exam with JKPSC which is scheduled for 31st July as there is surge in Covid cases so we fear to take the exam adding, rather the JKPSC is required to postpone the exam itself given the increase in cases, as such we request you to brings into the notice of the JKPSC to postpone the JKAS Prelims exam in the interest of the aspirants at large as we are feeling insecure now.

A group of JKAS Aspirants simmering with discontent told that they have developed fear psychosis due to the surge in the COVID cases. “Thousands of aspirants have to take this exam and in one examination centre there would be scores of aspirants together so which is open invitation to the spread of Covid 19 infection”, said an aspirant.

What is the Compulsion and necessity for the JKPSC to conduct the exam on 31st July 2022 when the district administration has activated their resources in terms of ramp up the health paraphernalia, they rued adding, first is your health that has to be given highest priority and after that the career but given the spike in the cases, now they are in mental trauma and distress as how we take the exam when the threat of COVID looming large, as cases are increasing exponentially with each passing day.

Aspirants seeking the postponement of exam at the earliest said only one week left only and even centres also been announced by the JKPSC coupled with the roll number also uploaded by the aspirants but there is sufficient ground for the JKPSC to postpone the exam so that the very threat of deadly virus, which has taken millions of lives across the globe, be kept at bay.

“We home that the JKPSC will certainly do better in the interest of aspirants”, they added.

Aspirants minced no words in saying that they are preparing for this prestigious exam since several years adding, but due to the surge in the cases has distracted our attention from the studies when we need revision of the syllabus when we one week left. “Due to this spike in cases, we are left guessing as we couldn’t able to revise the syllabus and it came to our mind time and again that taking exam together is an open invitation to the spreading of the COVID cases”, they added.

 “JKPSC need to postpone the exam in the interest of aspirants as there is a popular saying. health is wealth as such the JKPSC required to do introspection over the holding of this exam adding, there remains the apprehension of outbreak of the COVID 19 cases when aspirants in large numbers turned up to take exam on 31st July 2022”, said a medical expert, wishing not to be named.

As the day passes what to talk of COVID cases even tally of death also increases which is a matter of concern and the administration is on toes to cope up with the piquant arisen as the administration know fully well the ferocity with which this virus has wreaked havoc in the first, second and third wave and now they don’t want to lower their guard and become complacent in their COVID Appropriate Behavior (CAB), they lamented.

Senior official of the JKPSC asking not to be named, rules out any possibility of JKAS preliminary exam be postpone, he said adding, already fool proof arrangements have been made by us for the smooth conduct of the exams”, he categorically stated in response to a query of this scribe.

When asked that JKAS Aspirants apprehending threat of COVID with the passage of time, the death tally and cases seen a rise , official allay the fears of the COVID threat by saying that aspirants don’t need to worry about the spread of COVID but the aspirants requires to adopt COVID appropriate behaviour (CAB) during the exam as they should wear the masks and quick to add that the ferocity of the COVID is not that severe what it was prior, official vehemently replied to a query of the correspondent in question. Elaborating further, he questioned the postponement of the aspirants that when roll numbers also being given and now these aspirants seek the postponement which is not feasible at this time, official rued.
