The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has taken decisive action against two police personnel, Inspector Ameet Kumar Koul and Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma, following allegations of possessing disproportionate assets. FIRs have been registered against them, marking a significant development in the ongoing efforts to combat corruption within the law enforcement apparatus.

FIR No. 01/2024 has been lodged under Section 13(1) (b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 at the PS Central Branch of ACB Jammu against Inspector Ameet Kumar Koul. This action comes in response to the findings of a Secret Verification, which uncovered suspicions regarding the accumulation of assets beyond the officer’s known sources of income.

Additionally, FIR No. 02/2024, under Section 13(1)(b) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, has been filed at PS ACB Jammu against Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma. This follows an inquiry into allegations of disproportionate assets amassed by the said official.

Conducting thorough investigations, the ACB has executed searches at the residential premises of both individuals and the business establishments belonging to Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma. These searches yielded incriminating documents and valuables, which have been seized for further scrutiny as part of the ongoing investigation process.

The initiation of legal proceedings against these police personnel underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold integrity and accountability within their ranks. It also serves as a reminder of the unwavering resolve to root out corruption from public service, irrespective of the positions held by the individuals involved.

As the investigations progress, the ACB remains steadfast in its pursuit of justice, ensuring that those found guilty of corrupt practices face the full extent of the law. The diligent efforts of anti-corruption authorities reflect a collective determination to foster transparency and ethical conduct, essential for maintaining public trust in governance institutions.
