DDE Jammu University conducts Workshop, Orientation Programme

The Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), University of Jammu, organised a two-day Workshop cum Orientation Programme for the in-service teachers enrolled under the B.Ed. Programme for the session 2021-2023.

The Workshop was conducted in the Seminar Hall of the new building of DDE from March 12th to 13th, 2022. Besides 170 in-service teachers, various dignitaries and resource persons attended the inaugural session of the programme. The Director, DDE, Prof. (Dr.) Satnam Kour was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Prof.  C. L. Shivgotra (former faculty at Govt. College of Education, Jammu), was the Guest of Honour. The programme commenced with the introduction cum welcome address by the B.Ed. Programme Coordinator, Dr. Jaspal Singh Warwal. This was followed by the presentation of bouquet to Chief Guest.

The programme formally started with the lighting of traditional lamp as a ritual to seek the blessings of almighty God. Thereafter, Prof. Shivgotra, in his address highlighted the importance of various activities like Internship Work and writing of Reflective Journals as the components of the B.Ed. Course.  The Chief Guest while presenting her remarks appreciated the efforts made by the B.Ed. Programme Coordinator in planning and organising the Workshop so meticulously.  She encouraged the participants to draw optimum benefit out of the Workshop. The inaugural session concluded with the presentation of vote of thanks by Dr. Anuradha Goswami, faculty DDE and high tea.

The technical sessions were held in the afternoon session, wherein beside expert lectures by the resource persons practical knowledge was provided to the participant teachers about the various activities like sessional work, field visits, internship work and writing of reflective Journal.

The programme continued to second day, wherein the resource teachers briefed the participants about the course design, interacted with the participants and clarified their doubts and queries. The participants enthusiastically participated in the workshop and put forward their ideas freely in a constructive manner. The Workshop concluded on 13 March, 2022, with participants thanking the course coordinator and resource persons for such a constructive offline programme after a two years long covid pandemic situation. The resource persons for the technical sessions included Prof. C.L. Shivgotra, Dr. Anuradha Goswami, Upasana Sharma, Sunita Sharma, Paramjeet Kour, Renu Bala and Dr. Shefali Sharma. The entire process of the Workshop went very well and in a systematic manner because of the various committees made by the programme coordinator for the smooth conduct of the programme. The various committees behind the success of the Workshop were – Reception Committee (Priya Sharma, Kirana Devi, Amisha Singh, Jaspreet Kour), Refreshment Committee (Shanker Bhagat, Uttam Kumar, Sonia Khonjay, Manmeet Kou, Kamini Devi, Aksh Dev Singh), Discipline Committee (Tania Billoria, Shafali, Vandana Bharti, Shabnum Qouser, Renu Mangotra), and Stage Management Committee ( Nancy, Gangandeep Kour, Anisha Devi, Rajani Verma, Nittu Kumara, Reetpal). The dais handling was meticulously managed by Ms. Oshni Negi and Ms. Divya Sawney.
