Dr Ashutosh brings reforms: Now media is allowed in GMC Jammu

Brining major reform and transparency in its functioning, the new Principal Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu, Dr Ashutosh Gupta with 24 hours of his joining issued official order allowing media to interact/ consult with spokespersons of respective hospitals, which was banned for years together.

“In supersession of previous order, Media(Social/Print/Electronic) is hereby permitted to visit permissible areas of the GMC & Associated Hospitals, Jammu in consultation with the Spokesperson of the respective Hospitals except the non-permissible areas like, Emergency, Critical Care, ICU, CCU, Labour Room or any other areas as and when notified by the concerned Medical Superintendent/s. Besides, this the Media Person/s are advised to take always official version or any feedback they are going to provide in the interest of patient care and smooth functioning of the institution”, order no. GMC/23/order/1597, dated 26/07/2026 reads.
