“People from different walks of life started joining in our fight to save Raika”, says Anmol Ohri who launch crusade to save Raika from destruction.

As the decks have been cleared to laid foundation stone by the Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud on 28th of June to construct New High court complex at Raika forests Jammu. In wake of the destruction of the Raika forests founding director of Organization “Climatic front” Anmol Ohri and his team have in forefront in terms of opposing the government move of constructing the New High court complex at Raika Jammu.
In a freewheeling chat with The Hidden News Correspondent Mohd Irfan, Anmol Ohri shared the view point as how he and his team his fighting the crusade in saving the lungs of Jammu Raika Forests. “If we not saved the Raika then be ready to face detrimental effects of Environment as already we are confronting the same and recent one disaster of Joshimath, biparjoy and even in Jammu also we witnessed the Crops being destroyed on account of untimely rains “Anmol ohri cited an examples of environment degradation taking place just because of humans greed and they fiddle with the environment and later environment shows it’s destruction which then Humans have to suffer after all. Mohd Irfan: Are you intensifying your protest in the days to come as it has been learnt that our Honble Chief Justice of India going to laid foundation stone on 28th of June 2023?
Anmol Ohri: Yes, it is right that Chief Justice of India going to laid foundation stone adding, but as of now we don’t have any plan to intensify our protests. But quick to add that today we staged our protest at Bahu plaza where about thirty to forty members from different starta of life participated viz social activists, NGO members, Satveer Singh Manhas, vikramjeet Singh, Yuva Rajput Sabha and even advocates also. Mohd Irfan: As Honble Chief Justice of India will laid the Foundation stone which means officially the process have been set in motion for shifting the HC complex to raika?
Anmol Ohri: Chief Justice of India should take suo moto cognizance rather I don’t think so that his lordship came to know about the ground reality of this project which is coming up by destroying the forests of Jammu.
Mohd Irfan: Enlightened about your this organization and also about yourself as what take you towards this protest against the destruction of Rakia? Anmol Ohri: said that he done graduation in Journalism and then worked in this profession for 1- 2 years rather I have several friends of mine in Journalism. Later evinced keen interest towards the environment and then organization under the name and style Climatic front opened being the founding director of the same. We have about 600 – 700 members in this organization but actively about 60- 70 in numbers are working. I am 25 years of age and i want to live for next 50 years more for which I have to think about my future as how I spent my rest of my life for which important factor to be taken into consideration is the environment without saving the environment you can’t expect that you can live happily and healthy.
Mohd Irfan: To whom you held responsible for shifting the HC? Anmol Ohri: Not held responsible the ruling political party but the administration solely for the reason that it’s the administration which spells doom I said so because they under the garb of traffic Jams at Janipur gone for destruction of raika Forest’s which is reprehensible, condemnable and unwarranted. Even if there was state government still this problem existed . It’s a existential threat for all of us. What I expressing my concern that would be for the beneficial for the future generations to come. We get clean air because of raika. If they chopped of from where we will get the clean air rather it would be difficult for us to live in Jammu for the reason due to the cutting of trees deforestation there takes place increase in the content of pollution level which affected human’s badly in terms of ailments etc. I am not going to Join any political party. Prior twenty five years back forests at Janipur being chopped off and now after twenty five years again they are going for destruction. Our this organization is came in force about two and half years ago with a mission and motto to save our planet earth so that in future we can’t curse and have to eat a humble pie. Mohd Irfan: Have you stage protest in Jammu first time in regard to the Raika Forest’s? Anmol Ohri: Even our organization also taken up the matter of River front tawi just because that is contentious issue. You see now natural disasters taking place. Even it has been predicted that there will be intense heat wave in India. As you are well versed that there is global warming and glaciers are melting which is a matter of concern for all of us. Our Food security is also in danger meaning there by it get badly affected. Mohd Irfan: As you are fighting a lone battle against the government for stopping the destruction of raika forests? Do you think so you achieve success in your fight?
Anmol Ohri:desperate to save the environment and said as the time passes people from different walks of life started participated in this crusade to save the raika which is a good signal after all. Civil society of their own should have to come forward and opposed the government move of constructing HC complex when already there is adequate space available in Janipur.
Mohd Irfan: Don’t you think that there is need arisen that there should be awareness amongst the masses, students of schools and colleges regarding the repercussions of the destruction of raika forests?
Anmol Ohri: Said that their organization tried their level best to ensure that masses, students of schools and colleges be acquainted with the consequences of destruction of raika forests.
Mohd Irfan: What strategy you will adopt in the days to come if the government continue with the destruction of Raika forests? If your demand not being fulfilled regarding save the raika forests from destruction then what step you will take? Anmol Ohri: Being a founding director of organization “Climatic front” said that i am searching for advocates who can fight against the government and i will seek indulgence of advocates so that i can takes my legal fight to logical conclusion. He reiterated it has been learnt that case before the (NGT) National green tribunal stands dismissed and when challenged before the SC case not accepted. During that period some law interns filed the case and we don’t have any idea of climatic activism.
