Entry of Punjab-based girl, Johar Mehmood ends Sumedha’s life
The special investigation team (SIT) constituted by the then SSP Jammu Chandan Gupta, headed by Ramnish Gupta, today produced a 1200-page charge sheet against Johar Mehmood who killed Dr Sumedha in March this year in the Janipur area.
“The charge sheet in the infamous Dr Sumedha murder case, FIR no. 27/2023 u/s 302/309 IPC of PS Janipur produced in the court of law. On 07/03/2023, information received at Police Station Janipur regarding the murder of one Dr Sumedha Sharma”, a Police spokesperson said.
“In this regard, a case FIR No. 27/2023 u/s 302/323 IPC was registered at Police Station Janipur and an investigation started. On this, a special investigation team was constituted by the then SSP Jammu which was headed by Ramnish Gupta, SP Hqrs and other members included Sachit Sharma, SDPO Gandhi Nagar, Vishal Shoor, SDPO Domana, Inspr Sikander Chouhan, SHO Janipur, Inspr Rakesh Sharma SHO Bakshi Nagar”, the spokesperson said, adding that finally today 1249 pages charges sheet was produced for offenses u/s 302/309 IPC well established against accused Johar Mehmood in the court of law.
