Ajay Sharma, Superintendent of Police (SP) Jammu South, engaged the audience in a compelling discourse on the perils of drug abuse, labeling it as one of the gravest crimes against humanity. With fervor and conviction, he delineated the nefarious nexus between drug trafficking, terrorism financing, and threats to national unity, urging the audience to confront this menace head-on.

Addressing a diverse gathering comprising students, faculty members, medical professionals, and media representatives, SP Sharma implored them to commemorate Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice by taking a solemn vow to steer clear of substance abuse. He emphasized the pivotal role of individuals in identifying and supporting vulnerable peers ensnared by addiction, advocating for compassion and empathy in their rehabilitation journey. Encouraging proactive involvement, SP Sharma underscored the significance of knowledge as a potent weapon in the battle against drug abuse, enlisting the support of the youth and academia in this crusade.

In a poignant gesture honoring the legacy of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, SP Ajay Sharma exemplified the spirit of selflessness by participating in a blood donation camp held in the freedom fighter’s memory. Revealing Bhagat Singh as his source of inspiration, SP Sharma epitomized the ideals of sacrifice and service ingrained in the national hero’s legacy.

The event further featured a complimentary medical awareness camp, wherein the pivotal role of healthcare professionals in combatting drug abuse garnered appreciation and acknowledgment. Through collective deliberation and solidarity, the program underscored the imperative of concerted efforts in combating the scourge of drug addiction while honoring the sacrifices of martyrs like Shaheed Bhagat Singh, who epitomized unwavering commitment to the nation’s freedom.

As the echoes of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s ideals reverberate through such initiatives, Jammu University stands as a beacon of hope and resilience, nurturing a generation committed to upholding the principles of justice, freedom, and social responsibility.
