It sounds bizarre but it is a fact that owner of a four-wheeler Vitara Breeza received a message of e – Challan of Rs 300 and which caught him in a fix as never ever heard in a country as well in the world that in four-Wheeler One has to wear crash helmet. But this has happened in Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir where in Traffic Police e challan of Four-wheeler of crash helmet.

“At about 7 AM I received a call from my brother that he received one message on his mobile of e challan”, aggrieved and dejected Advocate Nitin divulged adding, then I enquired as what of offense e challan done it came to fore of Crash helmet this left me bit preposterous. The traffic police doing all this for the purpose of revenue generation and nothing else” Advocate went to the extent of saying and what is more intriguing and baffling is that even signatures of ASP as well of DySp Traffic also on the challan” he lamented.
“If senior officials resorted to such type of faux paus and malpractices then how come the system be streamlined. Had there been common men instead of me he would surely pay the e-challan but being an Advocate having knowledge of Motor vehicle act as such now decided to contest the Case before the Traffic court and it has been listed for 5th of December 2022” he vehemently added.
Advocate Nitin hailed the Srinagar traffic court for halting the process of e challan given the technical glitches in the system as the advocate said Traffic court right in its observation that Till the Technical system improves no to e challan this would streamline the system in the Srinagar. He said Jammu Traffic Court should also ban e challan as it harassing the commoners to a greater extent. Sooner the E challan ban the better it would be!
“Had bank transferred the amount to some other account holder fraudulently bank officials would be booked under the relevant sections of the law” Adv. Nitin categorically divulged adding, but in so far as Police officials are concerned, they are not being booked” he maintained.
The Number of four-wheeler Vitara Breeza is JK02CR 5599 and in challan it shows number of scooty. Either it means two numbers vehicles are plying on the road one is scooty and other is this four-wheeler.
