Nowshera Police have registered a case against a Junior Engineer, of Public Works Department for assaulting a Police at Nowshera town, on Thursday afternoon.
Video of entire scene went viral immediately after the incident. In the video, the JE and his companion can be clearly seen thrashing and threating the cop, who tried to stop a car driven by the JE in no-entry (one way traffic lane). In the video several people were seen in scrimmage with cop. Police taking the matter seriously, registered an FIR 166/22 under section 353,186,504,506 IPC against JE Ramesh Chander.
353 IPC: assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging of his/her duties.
186 IPC: Voluntarily obstructs any public servant in the discharge of his/her public functions.
504 IPC: intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace. 506 IPC: the offence of Criminal intimidation.
