In a significant gathering at Raj Bhawan today, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presided over the 47th Board meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB).

The meeting brought together key members of the Shrine Board, including D.C. Raina, Kailash Mehra Sadhu, K. N. Rai, Dr. Shailesh Raina, and Prof. Vishwamurti Shastri.

The board expressed its appreciation for the collaborative efforts of various entities that contributed to the successful conduct of this year’s Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. These included the Civil Administration, Jammu & Kashmir Police, Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Disaster Response Forces, SASB, health and sanitation workers, and service providers.

This year’s pilgrimage saw a remarkable turnout, with over 5.12 lakh devotees performing darshan at the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath ji. This figure marks the highest number of pilgrims in the last twelve years, underscoring the event’s growing popularity and improved management.

During the meeting, board members engaged in discussions about potential interventions and measures to enhance facilities and services for future pilgrims. They shared valuable insights on various agenda points and commended the improvements made in queue regulation and crowd management. The successful implementation of Aadhaar-based registration and other pilgrim-centric initiatives by the Shrine Board and associated departments were also lauded.

The Chief Executive Officer of SASB delivered a comprehensive presentation on ongoing works and crucial factors related to the annual holy pilgrimage. The meeting was also attended by the Additional CEO of SASB and senior officers from the UT Administration and Shrine Board. This gathering of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board under Lt. Governor Sinha’s chairmanship reflects the administration’s commitment to continuously improving the pilgrimage experience while ensuring the safety and comfort of devotees.
