An anonymous derogatory letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Atal Dullo, making explosive allegations against several senior IAS officers and demanding their dismissal, has gone viral on social media platforms. The letter primarily targets bureaucrats from outside J&K posted in the Union Territory.

However, The Hidden News contacted the sender’s mobile number mentioned in the letter, the person who answered the call replied, “I have not filed any such complaint. I don’t know what’s going on. I have not seen a copy of the letter, but I’m receiving multiple calls over this issue. I will lodge a police complaint.”

The unclaimed letter levels serious charges of rampant corruption, sexual exploitation, misuse of official powers, and misconduct against multiple top bureaucrats, including former Chief Secretaries. It claims their actions have gravely eroded public trust and derailed development efforts in the region.

At the heart of the purported scandal is a former Chief Secretary accused of large-scale graft, inappropriate relations with lady officers, neglecting land encroachment issues, misusing resources for an extra-marital affair, and other unbecoming conduct.

Equally disturbing are the allegations against another top officer of maintaining illicit liaisons, links with anti-national elements, and manipulating transfers and postings for personal gains, posing risks to internal security.

The letter further alleges that a senior IAS officer presently posted outside J&K, amassed disproportionate assets through corruption and facilitated sexual exploitation rackets in collusion with influential individuals. It also names some other female officials for allegedly enabling such exploitation, severely denting the bureaucracy’s integrity.

While the credibility and origin of the anonymous letter remain unverified, the allegations have sparked outrage, with legal experts and civil society groups demanding a thorough probe into the matter’s veracity. They argue that failure to take decisive action will only compound the crisis and perpetuate the alleged culture of unaccountability that has long plagued development efforts in J&K.

Meanwhile the J&K Police should also take cogniznace of the matter, several high profile women of J&K, have also been named. A crackdown on misogynistic behavior and harassment targeting women in positions of power and public service, is immidiately required to prevent any damaged to the name mentioned in the letter.
