In a significant development, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday reaffirmed his party’s alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), stating that he would be attending the crucial NDA meeting in New Delhi later in the day. This move comes despite efforts by the NIDIA bloc, an opposition coalition, to prevent Narendra Modi from becoming the Prime Minister for a third consecutive term.

Addressing a press conference, Naidu firmly asserted, “We are in NDA. I am going for an NDA meeting. In the course of time, if there is anything, we will report to you.” His statement quashed speculation surrounding the TDP’s stance following the recent Assembly and Lok Sabha poll results in Andhra Pradesh, where the NDA emerged victorious.

Adding to the NDA’s strength, Janasena party chief Pawan Kalyan, whose party secured two Lok Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh, is also expected to attend the NDA meeting in the national capital. Sources close to Kalyan confirmed his departure for Delhi to participate in the crucial deliberations.

The NDA meeting, scheduled for Wednesday in New Delhi, holds significant importance as senior leaders of the BJP-led alliance will take stock of the Lok Sabha poll results and deliberate on the details of government formation. With the TDP and Janasena winning a combined 18 Lok Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh, and the BJP securing two seats in the state, their participation will play a crucial role in shaping the next government at the Centre.

Naidu acknowledged the challenges faced by Andhra Pradesh during the past five years and expressed his determination to rectify the situation. He alleged that the state had suffered immense destruction, with systems being dismantled and the economy collapsing during this period. Reflecting on the dynamics of politics, Naidu philosophically stated, “Nobody is permanent in politics, and there will be ups and downs. The country is permanent, democracy is permanent, political parties are permanent, but power is not permanent.” In a veiled reference to the YSR Congress party, he cautioned that political parties that deviate from honesty and straightforwardness risk vanishing from the political landscape.

As the NDA meeting approaches, all eyes are on the crucial deliberations that will shape the future course of governance in the country, with Naidu and his party’s participation expected to play a pivotal role in the proceedings.
