District administration Jammu has set the process in motion for summary revisions of the polls in order to pave way for the new eligible voters to cast votes in the ensuing elections.
The Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa has passed an order dated 11.10.2022 where by procedure has been mentioned as to what are the mandatory formalities which the new voters have to follow so that they become entitled to cast votes.
“Tehsildars of the respective Tehsils of Jammu have been directed to visit the respective Tehsils which falls under their jurisdiction and conducted field visit after that only issued the certificate of residence to the ones who are living in Jammu for more than one year” reads the order no. 01- DEOJ- 2022 of DC Jammu.
Even it has also mentioned in the order following are the necessary documents which the election Commission of India have mentioned that are needed for the purpose of residence proof are as follows
Aadhar card, water/ electricity/ gas connections, current passbook of Nationalized bank/Scheduled bank/post office, indian passport, revenue department land owning records, including kisaan bahi, Registered rent deed/ lease deed ( In case of tenant), registered sale deed in case of own house, reads further contents of the order.
Where as these guidelines further provides that any other proof of residence can also be accepted as registration of the new voters.
